Jennifer Nettles Performs on Live Music Series ‘Front and Center’
Six-time CMA Award winner and three-time Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles recently made an appearance on the critically acclaimed live music show, Front and Center. In a debut exclusive clip of the episode, which was filmed at New York's Iridium, the country star performs a series of songs, some of which with singer/song writer's Brandy Clark and Amos Lee.
During an interview captured prior to her performance, Nettles says, “my love of performance actually comes from a love of live performance. If it happens to translate through a camera or through a recording, I love that." Nettles continues, “I love that we have the technology to record performances and repeat them as many times as we want, (whether) in our cars or in our headphones or on our televisions."

Best known for her role as the lead singer of the duo Sugarland, Nettles, also recently made headlines for revealing that she feels “liberated" by her new solo career, despite early concerns that she wouldn't be comfortable on her own. “The whole impetus behind going solo was an artistic inspiration in the sense that, obviously success is fantastic," she said in an interview with her label, Big Machine Label Group. “But as one becomes successful and gets branded with a certain sound if the brand starts to become more of the focus than the evolution of the art then that's putting the cart before the horse. And I could see that actually happening."
Front and Center is currently in its seventh season and features CMA Award winners, Grammy Award winners, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and emerging artists. This season alone the show has hosted performances by Cheap Trick, Dawes, Shawn Mendes, Southside Johnny, Kaleo, The Cadillac Three, and Rob Thomas, as well as Steve Vai.
Nettles' episode of Front and Center will air nationally on public television. Check local listings for air dates and times here.
