Looking for holiday films to add to your queue? Well Blake Shelton’s got a must-see for you: Hallmark’s Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas is based on Shelton’s song of a very similar name – “Time for Me to Come Home!”

Shelton and his mother, Dorothy Shackleford, wrote the song together in 2012 for his Christmas album, Cheers, It’s Christmas.

“Blake was writing the song for his Christmas album and said he needed help with the second verse,” Shackleford told CountryLiving.com. “So I came up with the second verse and that’s how the song was born." Shackleford is also featured on the track. "That thrilled me but at the same time it made me very nervous because I’m not a great singer,” she said.

She then wrote a book in 2013 with the same name.

Shelton is co-executive producer (along with Harvey Kahn, Orly Adelson and Michael Shepard. on the Hallmark movie and follows a famous musician, Heath (Josh Henderson), and Cara (Megan Park. Both characters get stranded in Chicago while traveling back to Oklahoma for the holidays and end up hitting it off. Heath also has similarities to Shelton in real life. For example, Shelton is also from Oklahoma, a famous musician and both characters’ fathers have passed.

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas premieres Sunday, December 9 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Time for Me to Come Home Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
There’s music in the city
And lights are on display
There’s a big old tree for all to see
Where the children run and play

I look out my window
Something just don’t seem right
Till I said hello and heard her voice
On the other end of the line

[Chorus]
Now it’s Christmas, Christmas I’m hurrying’ on my way
Christmas, Christmas, like I’m riding in a one horse sleigh
Well, I don’t have to hear no jingle bells, just the ringing of the phone
Mama called and said it’s time for me come on home

[Verse 2]
The pies are in the oven
You can almost taste the air
It warms my heart to feel her love
And know how much she cares
It’s funny how going back can get you back to where you belong
It’s the difference between just a melody and my favorite Christmas song

[Chorus]
Well, it’s Christmas, Christmas I’m hurrying’ on my way
Christmas, Christmas, like I’m riding in a one horse sleigh
Well, I don’t have to hear no jingle bells, just the ringing of the phone
Mama called and said “it’s time for you come on home”
Mama just called and said “it’s time for you to come home”
