On December 2, the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 brought together music stars from all genres, heads of state and dignitaries to raise money and awareness to help fight extreme poverty.

Among the array of global artists, Kacey Musgraves performed a headlining set and ended with Coldplay’s Chris Martin on “Rainbow.” As Martin walked out to stage, Musgraves kiddingly said, “No big deal, it’s just Chris Martin.” Watch the collaboration and be prepared for feels.

“We can’t choose the color of our skin or the means in which we come from but we CAN choose to love, find common ground, & simply help fellow humans in any way big or small. It was an honor to be involved & I loved South Africa 🇿🇦❤️ THANK YOU @GlblCtzn + Chris Martin @coldplay,” Musgraves tweeted, reflecting on the scope and influence of the event.

Aside from “Rainbow” with Martin, Musgraves performed her songs “Oh, What a World” and "High Horse.” Musgraves graciously told the crowd, “I’m so grateful and so honored to be here, this is my very first time, ever here [South Africa]. We came all the way from Nashville, Tennessee and I’m very proud to be standing on this stage today. Thank you so much for being here.”

The Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 was held at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa and raised over $7 billion to affect the lives of over 130 million people. In addition to Musgraves and Martin, Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Femi Kuti and Pharrell Williams also performed.
