Though shy in nature, Lara Jean dreams of fantastically romantic scenarios with her crushes, only to write down her feelings in secret letters and hide them in her room. When Harry Met Sally - (1989) Streaming On: Amazon Prime

First on our list of must see fall films is the 1989 classic When Harry Met Sally. This adorable film begins in autumn on a road trip between New York and Chicago and follows Harry and Sally over the next 10 years of their lives as they sporadically run into each other, become friends, and of course, fall in love despite not wanting to. The film stars Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal and has been deemed a must watch rom-com! When you need a comfy night in, this is definitely the flick to watch. The full movie is available to rent on Amazon Prime and is perfect for a date night in or for your girls night!

Loving the throwbacks? Make sure to watch 10 Things I Hate About You! With Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, how could you not love this movie?

The film follows angsty high schooler Kat Stafford, who completely rejects the idea of dating the immature boys around her, while her younger sister Bianca cannot wait to meet boys. The girls’ father slyly makes a rule that Bianca can only date if Kat does, but slowly, Kat (Julia Stiles) begins to fall for the edgy bad boy changing all the rules completely. Filled with high school parties, prom and some old fashioned ‘90s flare jeans, 10 Things I Hate About You is the perfect feel good movie for everyone.

Picture Perfect - (1997) Streaming On: Netflix

To add to the list of cute ‘90s films is another one of our favorites starring Jennifer Aniston. Picture Perfect follows a young advertising agent (Jennifer Aniston) as she pretends to be married to a man she barely knows in order to get a promotion! Like all good romantic comedies, the plan doesn’t exactly go as expected, but somewhere along the way, Aniston and her pretend husband begin to fall for one another. We love watching stories of young love, especially if they take place in New York City in the fall.

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - (2003) Streaming On: Amazon Prime

Speaking of advertising agents in New York City, we absolutely love watching the dreamy Benjamin Barry (Mathew McConaughey) in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days! This story follows Kate Hudson as she attempts to date a guy and (you guessed it) drive him away in just 10 days as a writing assignment for her job. And on the flip-side, McConaughey’s character is a ladies’ man who in an attempt to win a big campaign, bets that he can make a woman fall in love with him in just 10 days.

Like any good rom-com, the couple fight, get in some over the top antics, and eventyually fall in love. We know you will be laughing the whole time at how ridiculous and relatable this film is. Rent it on Amazon Prime to watch the full movie.

Sydney White - (2007) Streaming On: Netflix

In the mood for something a bit more modern, check out Sydney White, starring Amanda Bynes. This 2007 feature follows a college bound tomboy who navigates her way through sorority life, ultimately finding out that there is no reason to change who you really are. Though this inspiring ending seems cliche, Bynes’ character (Sydney) doesn’t learn her lesson before taking on some challenges with the help of her 7 dorky friends. Based on the classic tale Snow White, this motion picture modernizes one of our favorite childhood stories.

The Spectacular Now - (2013) Streaming On: Netflix

Speaking of modern chick flick, the 2013 feature The Spectacular Now, is on Netflix and is definitely a movie you’ll want to cuddle up with. The film is about a shy girl (Shailene Woodley) who meets the most popular boy in school, falls in love and eventually teaches him (played by Miles Teller) the importance of taking responsibility. This is a new take on the classic tale of two teens from different worlds coming together and will have your heart melting!

Stream the movie on Netflix and check out the trailer below.

16 Candles - (1984) Streaming On: Amazon Prime

Last but definitely not least on our must watch list is 16 Candles, which is so good it’s even referenced in All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. The movie is about a young girl whose family forgets her 16th birthday in the midst of her older sister’s impending wedding day. Staring Molly Ringwald, the young heroine is “stuck with a guy who’s driving her crazy and stuck on a guy she’s crazy about.” This coming of age tale is what started it all and inspired many of the modern rom-coms we see today.

So sit down, pull up Amazon Prime and get ready to laugh, cry and smile at all the cheesy rom-com cliches you know and love.
