Not only is she set to release her new album this Friday, September 28, but Lynn is now being honored with the Artist of a Lifetime Award at CMT’s Artists of the Year celebration!
Country icon Loretta Lynn is receiving a much deserved award at this year’s CMT’s Artists of the Year celebration. Not only is the legendary singer set to release her new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, this Friday, September 28, but Lynn is now being honored with the Artist of a Lifetime Award at CMT’s Artists of the Year celebration.
“I’m always so proud when I receive any awards for my music, but when I heard it was this year’s “Artist of a Lifetime” award it made me really happy,” Loretta said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be able to make music that people enjoy and I’m really excited to have a new album coming out. Thank you CMT for acknowledging me with this award and for honoring the women in country music at Artists of the Year.”
Sissy Spacek, Oscar winner and star Coal Miner’s Daughter, a film adapted from the singer’s real life experiences, will present the award to Lynn during the ceremony on October 17 at 8PM ET/PT.
Speaking of her upcoming album, fans can see Lynn jamming out on a porch in her latest music video for “Ain’t No Time to Go,” off her new record Wouldn’t It Be Great. The song, like the previous single “Ruby’s Stool,” proves Lynn can still create a classic country track and will feature 13 new and reimagined songs written by the legend herself.
