New Artist Spotlight: Everette
Everette, made up by friends Brent Rupard and Anthony Olympia, formed when the two moved to Nashville to chase the music dream!
This week’s New Artist Spotlight is country band, Everette. The band, made up by friends Brent Rupard and Anthony Olympia, formed when the two moved to Nashville to chase the music dream.
The band describes their musical influences as Tom Petty, Randy Travis, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, The Eagles and John Mayer, but strive to have their authenticity show through their music.
The band usually co-writes music while on the road. Everette describes their music as “bonfire music.” Olympia says, “Just like everyone’s involved at a bonfire jam. When we’re on stage we don’t want any separation between us and the audience. We want our shows to be an experience. We write songs about us, but they’re really about everyone.”
Their single, “Slow Roll,” is described as having “a simmering groove, breezy aesthetic and a catchy chorus hook that encourages trading your stressors for a gentle float downstream.”
Rupard says, “Some days are just meant for blowing off your troubles, your worries, and just going with the flow ‘gently down the stream.’ That’s what ‘Slow Roll’ is all about.”
