Luke Bryan Stops By Kimmel, Dishes On Idol & Judges
To help promote the latest season of American Idol, judge Luke Bryan visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night, May 7. The country star discussed the stress involved when having to send aspiring musicians home as well as dished on fellow judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.
While sitting on Kimmel's famous couch, Bryan shared an anecdote about having dinner with the two music icons. According to Bryan, who announced he will rejoin Idol's second season, his fellow judge Perry invited herself and Bryan to dinner at Richie's estate. “I didn’t say anything, and Katy is like, ‘Lionel, can we come over next Sunday?’ And I’m like, 'God, I hope he says yes,’” said Bryan.
The country sensation added that when he arrived to Richie's house, he was very impressed by how the R&B icon had decorated his decedent home, especially the individualized ceilings. “We have one thematic ceiling [at my house]. I have one that has some oak beams. But [at Richie’s] the bathrooms have different ceilings. I just walk around the whole time in the house [looking up]. It’s like a museum,” Bryan said.

Bryan also shared with Kimmel that his impressive touring schedule and accolades aren’t that impressive to his kids. "They’re like, 'Whatever, Dad,’“ he said. "I sang the anthem at the Super Bowl and my boys are throwing the ball in the yard. You can’t fight that fight.”
