Carrie Underwood Hits The Studio, Shares First Face Pic Since 2017 Accident

Carrie Underwood fans, it's time to rejoice and get excited because it looks like the country star is back in the studio!!

In an Instagram post shared Wednesday, April 4, the country singer was featured sitting in front of a microphone and sound board with her hair pulled back and in a hoodie, looking like she was concentrating on something pretty important. The picture is black-and-white without a caption, leading us to speculate even further that new music is in the works!

If our theory is correct, this would be Underwood's sixth studio album and first full-length release since 2015′s successful Storyteller. With over 1,000,000 sales worldwide, the record was certified platinum and contained four singles that hit number one, including “Heartbeat," “Church Bells," “Smoke Break," and “Dirty Laundry." Storyteller also launched a massive world tour, where she spent the majority of 2016 on the road.

Though the “Before He Cheats" singer spent much of 2017 on the down low, she did host that year's CMA Awards in November. However, just days after the award show, she suffered a fall outside her house, which required surgery on a broken wrist and 40-50 stitches on her face.

Based on her Instagram post, it's a relief to see Carrie healthy, healed, and as beautiful as ever!

More recently this year, she premiered “The Champion", featuring Ludacris, as the opening theme for the 2018 Super Bowl LII. With the song hitting the charts after it dropped, it looks like this year is going to be a strong one for Underwood.

The country artist has previously promised new music, and though she gave us a bit of a sneak peek of new music with “The Champion", I think we can all agree it's time for a new Carrie Underwood record!
