People Magazine recently revealed their pick for 2017's “Sexiest Man Alive" and none other than country music's own Blake Shelton took home the title. His reaction? “Y'all must be running out of people,“ he told the publication for their cover story. "Like, wow, we're down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical."
And while you might think accepting the award is a no-brainer,
he has girlfriend Gwen Stefani to thank for pushing him in the right direction,
“Listen to me, you're going to regret this for the rest of your life if you
don't take this gift and just live in the moment,“ Shelton says Stefani
But that's not the only reason he decided to embrace his new crown, the “I'll Name the Dogs" singer couldn't wait to share the news with fellow Voice coach Adam Levine, who himself was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2013.
“As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that's really the only thing I care about," Shelton
So what does Gwen think of her man being chosen for the honor? “He's perfect for it," she told People. “Somebody that is funny and has a sense of humor is sexy — that's the No. 1 thing. [He's] somebody that is at the top of their game and talented and genuine and cool and generous and just not self-aware at all — completely a man," she continued. “He doesn't even know how cute he is. [He's] cocky but only because he's a cowboy!"
We look forward to watching the comical country star milk the title, ““It's going to be used in every conversation, whether it's at The Voice, or at the feed in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, or in a conversation with a doctor," he said. “When [people] would say to Adam, 'Mr. Sexy,' you'd always see him go, 'Well, awwww…' If you say that to me, it's going to be, 'You're damn right, I'm Mr. Sexy! I've been ugly my whole life, if I can be sexy for a year, I'm taking it. I'm taking it."
Congratulations Blake, it's unlikely any of the other “Sexiest Men Alive" brought the same sense of humor to the title.
