To help celebrate their recent tour announcement, Little Big Town visited The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon with tour mates Kacey Musgraves and Midland.
As soon as the camera pans from Fallon's desk to Midland, dressed to the country nines per usual, strumming the first notes of their melodic “Drinkin Problem" you know you’re in for a treat. The trio of cowboys appear oddly at home on the NBC Studio stage while they bring their West Texas flair to the small screen. As they finish their cameo to applause from the crowd, we hear the first cords of Kacey Musgraves' “Merry Go Round." Viewers are treated to an incredible shot of the “Dimestore Cowgirls" blinged out mic stand, shimmery eye shadow and pink guitar strap. And while it's hard to believe, she sounded even better than she looked as she performed her Grammy winning single.
All this, and we haven't even gotten to the headliners. After much anticipation, Little Big Town file out from stage right to an eruption of cheer from the studio audience. The four veteran showmen and women stand shoulder to shoulder center stage, filling the space left between Midland and Musgraves.
In a surprising yet welcome twist, we realize we're hearing the first notes of ELO's 1979 chart topping hit “Don't Bring Me Down." The tour mates absolutely rocked Rockefeller Center, giving us a sneak peek of the chemistry they will be delivering throughout The Breakers 2018 Tour. Ending the performance to a standing applause, it's safe to say we're in for a great set of live shows.
