The country duo have done it again! Becoming known as the kings of crossovers, Florida Georgia line have teamed up with Swedish DJ Alesso and pop singer Hailee Steinfeld for a new collaboration, “Let Me Go."
The poppy jam is an unexpected breakup song that is bringing listeners to their feet to dance their troubles away. The new single is all about moving on from someone you no longer love, but hoping they can find someone who will appreciate them. “You made plans and I, I made problems / We were sleeping back to back / We know this thing wasn't built to last / Good on paper, picture perfect / Chased the high too far, too fast / Picket white fence, but we paint it black." Rather than serving as a move on and never look back song, “Let Me Go" hopes for the best and respectfully acknowledges both parties deserve better. Though the tune is not country, Florida Georgia Line's signature vocals add an undeniable country flare to the overwhelmingly pop and dance track.

The guys teased their latest collaboration on social media, announcing they'd be teaming up with Steinfeld just a couple days before the release of “Let Me Go" went to streaming services. “Never know when we're gonna drop new music. Out on Friday. Excited for this one! #LetMeGo @HaileeSteinfeld @Alesso @thisiswatt," they tweeted out to their followers on Thursday (September 7), just hours before the official release.
While it's the first time Florida Georgia Line has worked with Alesso or Steinfeld, the duo have been collaborating with other pop artists over the past year, working with EDM duo The Chainsmokers as well as a duet with pop singer Bebe Rexha. They have also collaborated and performed with the Backstreet Boys and are currently touring with hip hop artist Nelly.
