Maren Morris officially kicked off football season with her performance of the National Anthem while the New England Patriots took on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Morris confidently took the field wearing a patriots jacket and performed her own rendition of the anthem while the stadium could be noticeably heard singing along and cheering her on. With her signature soulful and somewhat raspy vocals, the country singer gave a powerful performance that had practically everyone impressed. To help pump up fans for last nights (September7) game, Morris posted to her social media ahead of time saying, "Rain or shine, I’m singing the national anthem tomorrow night at the Patriots vs. Chiefs game in Boston! #BannerWeek.“
Though Morris' jacket didn’t seem to bring luck to the Patriots, who the Chiefs beat 42-27, it was a memorable night for the “My Church" singer, who's impressive rendition made country music proud.

On top of giving the NFL a sound start, Morris has been busy touring with Sam Hunt on his 15 In A 30 Tour and receiving CMA Award nominations.
Just recently announced, the country sensation has been nominated for three 2017 CMA Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year for “Craving You" with Thomas Rhett and Musical Event of the Year for Rhett's “Craving You." Morris shared her appreciation with fans on Instagram on Monday (September 4) following the announcement of the nominees. “Some years you're in a bar across the street watching, hoping 'someday,' and some years you feel like you finally solidified your place. Thank you, @CMA."
Morris is up against fellow newcomer Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood for Female Vocalist of the Year. The award show will air November 8 and will be broadcast live on ABC.
