Darius Rucker just announced his upcoming album, When Was The Last Time, scheduled to drop on Friday, October 20, 2017.
His fifth studio album to hit the market under Capitol Records, When Was The Last Time, has already seen success with its first two singles. The lead single from the record, “If I Told You" recently claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Country Airplay Chart. His follow up single, “For The First Time," could easily follow suit with its fun beat and feel-good chorus, making us all want to venture out and try new things: “When was the last time you did something for the first time? / Yeah, let yourself go, follow that feeling / Maybe something new is what you're needing / Like a real life, let your hair down, feel alive / When was the last time you did something for the first time?"
Darius delves deeper into how “For The First Time" came to be on his website, “As a songwriter, sometimes the smallest idea can elicit a feeling and then you have this daunting task of trying to relay that emotion and energy into a three-minute song… When we wrote 'For The First Time,' we each had to dig deep for that moment – for me it was 'you say you've never danced to a dashboard singin' REM under summer stars.' After that it was all over." Ross Copperman, known for his esteemed work with artists like Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, and Brett Eldredge, produced the album and helped bring it to life. All while selling-out shows and releasing albums, Darius finds time to pursue his second passion: golf. In fact, he will begin hosting a show on SiriusXM's 24/7 golf channel called “On Par with Darius Rucker." In a quote from his website, Darius stated, “It's no secret that music and golf are two passions of mine. I've been lucky enough to play with and get to know some of the best golfers on tour. While we're on the course, I'm looking for swing tips and all they want to do is talk music. SiriusXM is the perfect place to blend both of those worlds into one show, and I am really excited to get started."
