Windy City Smokeout 2017 took over Chicago this past weekend, with over thirty of your favorite country acts performing over the exciting three days. Artists including Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Lee Brice, Brandy Clark, Luke Combs, and Ryan Hurd united to celebrate their love of barbeque and music with fans. Known as one of the “Top Seven Festivals to Visit in the World" by the New York Times and one of the “Best Barbeque Events Anywhere" by Forbes, Windy City Smokeout's BBQ, Bands, and Beer all combine to create a deliciously exciting weekend. The Smokeout brings in chefs, breweries, and artists from all over the country, creating a diverse mix of flavor and music in the Windy City of Chicago.

Jake Owen headlined opening night of Windy City Smokeout. In an interview with People before the event, Owen expressed his deep admiration for and excitement about playing in Chicago, “It's my favorite place to play in the country. From day one they just embraced me. When a big city like Chicago wraps their arms around you, it really helps you build a following. It feels like going home when I go back there." Owen even loves being a tourist in Chicago, enjoying a slice of deep-dish pizza when he is having a cheat day from his health-kick, taking a river tour, and going to museums. Fans went absolutely crazy to celebrate their “Barefoot Blue Jean Night" with Jake Owen.

Many of the artists took to their socials to share highlights from the event. Russell Dickerson had his childhood dreams come true by being given his very own Chicago Bulls Jersey, which he then wore to perform for the Chicago crowd!

Brandy Clark gave fans a glimpse into sound check with some magnificent Polaroid photos and Midland celebrated a show well done with an on-stage “Midland Cheers!"

It is clear that Windy City Smokeout was a great celebration of country music for fans and artists alike. We already can't wait for next year's event from July 13-15, 2018!
