Blake Shelton is still the sight and sound of NASCAR. Ahead of their 2017 NASCAR coverage, NBC is using Blake Shelton's song “Bring Back The Sunshine" for a third straight year to serve as a racetrack anthem. This time, the anthem is accompanied by a rip-roaring video of Shelton performing the song amidst soaring cars on an energetic speedway.
NBC first used the song in its original form in 2015, before Shelton re-purposed the lyrics to recreate the atmosphere of a NASCAR event. The 2017 video is loaded with NASCAR heavyweights, with twenty different racers appearing in the production. The video will kick off the NASCAR season this Saturday, July 1, when it features in the lead-up to The Coke Zero 400, which starts at 7PM ET on NBC.
According to Broadway World, Tripp Dixon, Vice President and Creative Director at NBC Sports Group, expressed that “we are excited that Blake is back this season to kick off our 2017 NASCAR Coverage. He resonates well with both the avid NASCAR fan and the casual viewer."
Shelton is universally appealing, and this video is only more proof of that. For more on the country crooner, catch him performing at the 2017 Department of Defense Warrior Games on June 30 and on this coming season of The Voice.
