Lindsay Ell Makes Late-Night Debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

With her guitar in hand and confident vocals, Lindsay Ell made her debut on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! a huge success!

On Tuesday, June 20, Ell paid Kimmel a visit and revealed the title and artwork of her first full-length album The Project, which is due in August. The rising country star performed a slew of guitar-soaked tunes including her current single, “Waiting On You," and her new album track “Champagne." Ell teamed up with the Kimmel house band Cleto and the Cletones and also performed rollicking versions of “Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz and “La Grange" by ZZ Top.

Ell's tune “Waiting On You" was somewhat of a focal point as the album came together and an obvious single for her upcoming album. And while the wait to see how the song will perform on country radio can seem like an endless dance, this single feels like one of Ell's most authentic. “It really feels like this is the first time I've had a single in my voice," says Ell. “It's the most honest song I've released. But the rest is out of my hands. I have created music that's real, and that's me, and now it's the rest of the world's job to see what's going to happen to it."

Ell also adds that as a song writer it's important to create music that allows her to be vulnerable, but also represents her as a strong woman. “As a female songwriter, some of my role models, like Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raittand Joni Mitchell, have a strength in their lyrics," says Ell. “They can be vulnerable, just enough where you believe them and you know it's real, but then they still keep that strength as a woman. I really wanted to be able to keep that stance."

Make sure to keep an eye open for the talented rising star's debut album, coming this August.
