New Artist Spotlight: Jackie Lee

Recognized as a talent from a young age, our New Artist Spotlight this week is singer/songwriter Jackie Lee. A native of Maryville, a small town in East Tennessee not far from Knoxville, Lee grew up playing football and singing alongside his father, who was an aspiring artist himself. With his father being a fan of traditional country and his mother loving 80's pop hits, the influences he had growing up were diverse, allowing him to create a unique sound and style of country music.

Making the move to Nashville after high school seemed inevitable and he got to work perfecting his craft. Lee's current single, “Gettin' Over You," the first off of his debut album expected for release later this year, has caught a ton of buzz and has streamed more than 12 million times on Spotify.

The track written by Lee along with Paul DiGiovanni and Brent Anderson is a true story about text messages Anderson was exchanging during a breakup the night before:

“I bet you had a couple long nights sleeping alone / I bet even on a short drive if our song came on / You'd pull over on the shoulder / and cry, thinking how we used to be / Girl, I bet you had a hard time getting over me / Ooh, that might be true / But if you think getting over me was hard, try getting over you / I don't wanna make light of what you're going through / But if you think getting over me was hard, try getting over you"

Lee's smooth vocals are a perfect match for the song, which blends country and pop. Fans can look forward to a modern country album with a twist of R&B and pop. Recently touring with Dan + Shay on their Obsessed Tour and playing festivals all summer long, Lee is gearing up for a career in music, one he has been dreaming about for many years.

Catch the rising star on tour with Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots this summer and playing festivals Faster Horses, Route 91 Harvest Fest and others. For a full tour schedule and to learn more about Jackie Lee, click here.
