CMA Fest 2018 Dates Announced
Most folks who made the trek to Nashville for the Country Music Association's CMA Fest this year are probably still recovering from a week chock full of epic performances and non-stop music, but its already time to start planning for 2018!
The CMA announced that the festival will be held Thursday, June 7 through Sunday, June 10 in downtown Nashville again next year. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting Monday, June 19 while the general on-sale is slated for Tuesday, June 27. Fans can purchase tickets online or by calling the CMA box office at 1-800-262-3387.
According to a recent press release, the 2017 iteration of the festival drew the largest fan engagement in the history of the event and 2018 will likely be just as big, if not bigger. It is estimated that close to 80,000 country music fans flooded downtown Music City to see performances from Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and more.
The event was faced with a certain set of challenges this year as the Nashville Predators were making a run for the Stanley Cup. On Sunday, the last night of the Festival, the Predators played a home game at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena while the final nighttime performances at Nissan Stadium were happening simultaneously. Both events went off without a hitch and seemed to only fuel the excitement for all involved.
“This is definitely one for the record books. This year's Festival was marked with memorable moments and one-of-a-kind experiences. We're happy how fans embraced not only our new stages, but also the city during an exciting historic Stanley Cup run for the Nashville Predators," said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer.
Despite the outcome of the Stanley Cup, Nashville kept the energy up and finished the weekend strong. Brad Paisley and Keith Urban ended the Festival with an unforgettable performance that many are still talking about online.
If you didn't make it to Nashville to witness all the action in person this year, you can tune-in to the CMA's broadcast of the event on Wednesday, August 16 at 8PM EST on ABC.
