Shania Twain Announces Album Name, Release Date & Cover Art

Shania has spent the last year dropping hints for her upcoming album, which will be the first in over a decade, and has just announced the name, cover art and release date for her new record, Shania Now.

Twain shared her album news via Instagram and Twitter, letting fans know Shania Now is coming September 29, while also showing the cover art for “Life's About to Get Good," the album's lead single. The country singer first debuted her new single while headlining the 2017 Stagecoach festival back in April. “Life's About to Get Good" gives very honest insight into the crumbling of her marriage with Mutt Lange, but is also a song about reawakening and moving forward.

“I was at home, looking out at the ocean, and I said to myself, 'Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it's so beautiful out. I'm not in the mood to write a feeling-sorry-for-myself song,'" Twain recalls. “You can't have the good without the bad. And that's what the song ended up being about."

While Twain's album is an exciting event for her fans, it is also admittedly a scary step for the country star to take, considering this is a very personal project and really the first she has taken on without the professional collaboration of her ex-husband. However, it is also a step Twain is ready to take.

“It was tough at times," she said. “Every single song was a nightmare because I was stressed about sharing it. It was a whole mix of feelings for me all the way around, but I'm so glad to be at the stage now where I'm ready to share it with the world. It's a relief, actually. It was really scary, but it was also really therapeutic and I learned so much about myself and I thoroughly enjoyed it in the end because it ended up being an incredible experience."
