Sara Evans Shines on New Single ‘Marquee Sign’

Sara Evans released new music for the first time in several years this month and announced a brand new album in the works titled Words, due out July 21st. “Marquee Sign", the debut single off the new project was written by Evans with Jimmy Robbins and Heather Morgan. The slow tempo groove allows Evans' vocals to shine, and the lyrics showcase the frustration you feel when getting wrapped up in a bad relationship.

“Some people lie / Some people trust / Some people hide / What they're made of / If you woulda been lit up like a marquee sign / Coulda saved myself some wasted time / From the minute I found you / If it'd been written out in black and white / Maybe then I would have told my mind / Not to get wrapped around you / I should have known it from the start / You were only here to break my heart"

Evans features her 14 year old daughter Olivia on the song as well. “Having Olivia sing on 'Marquee Sign' is such a special moment for me, not only as a mom but also as a fan. I was so impressed when she went in the vocal booth and started singing these really cool parts and ad-libs at the end of the song!" the proud mom exclaimed on her website. "My fans have watched her grow up on the road with me and I can't wait for them to hear her on this song."

The multi-platinum country singer will release Words next month which features fourteen different female writers lending their talents to her new project, Caitlyn Smith, Ashley Monroe, Hillary Lindsey, Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum and Sonya Isaacs just to name a few.
