American country music singer, Frankie Ballard, grew up in Michigan and was exposed to country music at a young age. Frankie claims that one of his earliest memories is of his father playing old country songs on guitar. Though Frankie grew up listening to country music, he actually aspired to pursue a career as a professional baseball player. Ballard went on to play baseball for Western Michigan University. After school he decided to sign up for Kenny Chesney’s music competition Next Big Star. After winning the competition, Ballard opened many shows for Chesney and then signed a record deal with Reprise Records in 2010.
After signing with Reprise Records in 2010, Ballard released his first single "Tell Me You Get Lonely" and then in 2011 was able to perform at The Grand Ole Opry. In 2013, Ballard then signed with Warner Bros. Records and released his hit song "Sunshine & Whiskey" which hit No. 1 on the charts in 2014. Soon after this success, his song "Young And Crazy" also hit No. 1 on the charts, putting Ballard’s name on the map as a country artist to watch. Today, Ballard has toured with Lady Antebellum and Florida Georgia Line and continues to release new music.
